Everybody's Coffee

First off, i love the Mocha Maya! I stumbled on this place, after leaving Truman College, while looking for a TCF Bank. I figured might as well check it out; as would any other serious yelper. Got totally great service from the guy at the register, who was very outgoing. I ordered a Mocha Maya, and got the last Red Velvet donut. Never knew there was such a thing, until i came to Everybody's Coffee. Anyway, this is a great, calm study spot for anyone. Its location is right up the street from CTA Wilson, Truman College, and in that little sector across from Uptown Baptist Church. Luckily i checked this place out, and most definitely will be returning in the future.

Enjoy!

Mocha Maya

Flag of Flanders

Purchased this cycling jersey from the Salvation Army, and had no idea what the name ment. I assumed it was a German name, but just looked "Vlaanderen" up, and this is what i found! It is the flag of Flanders, called the Vlaamse Leeuw ("Flemish Lion") or leeuwenvlag ("Lion flag"), is the flag of the Flemish Community and Flemish Region in Belgium.

Im not from Flanders, but i sure represented proudly during my ride to Wrigley Field, and through Lakeview, Uptown, and Edgewater neighborhood's of Chicago ; )

Palla's Grill

After walking pass this place many times i finally caught it open. Was far from disappointed with what i ordered; i ordered the BBQ Rib tips which comes with fries and a drink. Before stopping in, i thought this place only sold breakfast, but was surprised once i stopped in and seen desserts, alcohol, and the menu. As far as cleanliness it's great! I had no issues, and definitely felt comfortable eating the food. As far as restaurants, i rank it as one of the best in Uptown neighborhood.

Im also a people watcher, and this place is perfect for it; it's a high traffic area, which sits less than 100 meters from Harry S. Truman College; right outside of CTA Wilson on Broadway.

Cricket Hill

As far as i know "Cricket Hill" is one of the few hills; if not the only one in Chicago. Im actually a competitive runner that move here from Hawaii, and use to doing 100 % of my running on hilly terrain. That changed once I moved to Chicago. The incline is nowhere near in comparison to Hawaii's hills, but it's better than nothing. Hills are known as speedwork in disquise, or could also be a runners worst nightmare; depending on how you take it. Once I found this hill I was able to continue the hill workouts that I'm use to doing in Hawaii. Another bonus to "Cricket Hill" is that there is a track near, so you have the option to do speedworkouts on a track as well. I've also seen bikers ride up the hill as part of a hill workout on bike.

I'm reviewing this for what I actually use it for, but some use it as a spot to fly kites, watch the stars or fireworks. I haven't really lived here long enough to see anything else, but once I do see other things I guess I will have to try them.

Run adventure

Went on a run around Uptown track, and found this gorgeous beach. I was also happy to run into this facility that actually was well kept, considering it looking broken down. I needed a restroom emergency.

Uptown Baptist Church

Great service! A while ago, when i moved here from Hawaii, i looked for a church, and seen this church. Driving by it in my vehicle gave me a feel for the area, but reading the yelp reviews, and the seeing huge sign at the top of the church that says "Christ Died For Our Sins" is what attracted me to this church. I live in Edgewater neighborhood, but i do see myself visiting more in the future. I really enjoyed Uptown Baptist Church, and hope to assist with church community events in the future.

As for location, it's located in the heart of Uptown; less than 400 meters from CTA Wilson, and Truman College.

As for the church itself, it is very diverse, friendly, and has great support from the members involved.

My trip from Edgewater was well worth the visit to Uptown Baptist Church.
